  • Option for self-guided Exploration of Bombay Sapphire: amazing landscape of 1000 years of history, royal connections, and relaxing stroll along the river Test, running partially through the grounds.

Tour Description 

The Bombay Sapphire Distillery, much like the famous gin in its iconic blue bottles, is a fantastic blend of many ingredients source across the world.   

Situated in the beautiful rural setting of Whitchurch, Hampshire, The Laverstoke Mill site is classed as a place of special scientific interest (Ssi), with the classic red brick buildings carefully preserved, restored, and enhanced by the addition of magnificent curving glasshouses.  

Under the care of a Bombay Sapphire guide, you will learn about the challenges of sensitively developing a site that’s been in use as a mill since the 10th century, learn about the distilling process and even see the living plants from which classic Bombay Sapphire is made. 

In the afternoon, it is time to grab your Boston’s and shake things up with a few tips on mixing the perfect drinks from the resident cocktail masters. The hour-long session is instructive thanks to the vast expertise of the on-site staff and yet conducted in high spirits.   

You are provided with a free complimentary gin and tonic cocktail to set the scene for your own 1-hour masterclass cocktail experience.   

The River Test flows through the distillery site and out into a fabulous wetland habitat. You will get a chance to explore this tranquil area in the afternoon before you make your return journey. walk along the river adds a dash of natural beauty to the day’s cocktail of architecture, history, and the fragrant finery of Bombay Sapphire Gin. The Bombay Sapphire distillery is a working site, so you may be refused entry if you are wearing open-toe shoes. Please bring suitable footwear. 

Tour Itinerary 

10.30am– Arrival and comfort break. 

11.00am – A Guided Tour of the distillery with short Q&A at the end. 

12.30-1.30pm – Lunch.  Please bring your own OR eat at the restaurant. 

  • 2:00pm – Bombay Sapphire Cocktail Masterclass: cocktail mixology session with the opportunity to gain experience, create and enjoy two cocktails and sample a third, with one of our Gin Experts. 

3:15pm – 5:00pm – Explore the lovely countryside setting of the distillery and shop. 

5.00pm – End of Tour
