Tour Description

 

Inspired by those in the Loire valley, this beautiful French Renaissance chateau, was built in the 19th century by a Rothschild and has now been gifted to the National Trust for the public to enjoy. We are delighted to be able to offer an exclusive day event for our clients.

 

Upon arrival you will be welcomed into the chateau by your guide for the day and enjoy tea, coffee and a selection of pastries. Your guide will then take you on a tour of the house, after which you will have the opportunity to explore the extensive gardens and grounds.

 

Your two-course lunch will be served in the manor house restaurant with your choice of an accompanying glass of wine or prosecco. After lunch you can take a walk around the grounds and nearby lake or choose to explore the gingerbread bakery, coffee shop or the aviary.

 

We reconvene in the afternoon to take a guided tour of the wine cellars which is led by one of our world renown sommeliers.

 

Following in the Rothschild tradition of extensive wine collections, the wine collaboration between the UK, Bordeaux, Chilli and Argentina ensures that Waddesdon’s wine cellars are the most extensive in Europe.

 

We end the tour with a wine and cheese tasting, and you will have ample opportunities to speak with your guide and ask them any questions you may have regarding wine and wine and food pairing.

Timings and Itinerary

 

09.45   Park at the Car Park.  Meet tour Guide at the Welcome Pavilion.

  • Location: Waddesdon Manor, Aylesbury HP18 0JH

10:00 -With your Tour Guide, Board Bus to the Manor House

10.30am- Arrival at the Manor House Restaurant for Coffee, teas and Biscuits

1.30– 11:00     Tea/coffee and pastries/ comfort break

11:00 – Guided tour of house and exhibition

12.30 – Self Exploration of Grounds.

 

1.00-3.00   Wine Cellar tour, Wine Tasting and Deliboards lunch.

4.00-5.00   Exploring the gardens and outbuildings.

5:15 pm        us collection to take you back to the Welcome Pavilion

The Bordeaux Package

Our world renown sommeliers will enthrall you with the all round presentation.

Following in the Rothschild tradition of extensive wine collections, the wine collaboration between the UK, Bordeaux, Chilli and Argentina ensures that Waddesdon’s wine cellars are the most extensive in Europe. Our knowledgeable sommelier will provide exclusive  tour of their wine cellar. 

The wine tasting of  your eight Rothschild wines, four from Bordeaux and four from New World vineyards, with sharing deli-boards to accompany it for lunch.

Ample opportunity over lunch to engage and asking or sharing your experience and knowledge of wine.

Wine without cheese is only half the deal. So, your lunch experience includes tasting and sampling a range of cheese from Europe and beyond, complimenting the excellent wine.

After lunch you can take a walk around the grounds and nearby lake or choose to explore the gingerbread bakery, coffee shop or the aviary.
